Frequently Asked Questions

Here's what we usually get asked

What areas do you service?

We primarily service Brisbane's northern suburbs, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast, including areas like Caboolture, North Lakes and Redcliffe. Don't see your suburb listed? Get in touch anyway. Depending on the job, we may still be able to help.

What are your Office Hours?

Office Hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. If you contact us outside of those times, a member of our Team will be in touch on the next business day.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Every job, from your Energy Assessment through to installation, is completed by our own in-house licensed Vexus team. We are Australian owned and Queensland based, servicing Queenslanders with our own people, not subcontractors.

How does an Energy Assessment work?

You fill out a short survey so we understand your home, your current solar setup, and what you want to achieve. From there, our team assesses your situation and recommends the right battery system for you - no guesswork, no pressure.

What will a battery actually save me on my power bill?

This depends on your current energy usage, how much solar you already export, your electricity tariff and when you use power. There's no one-size-fits-all answer, which is why we review your actual usage before making any recommendations. We won't give you inflated savings figures. We give you an honest picture based on your home.

Are there any government rebates available?

Yes. The Australian Government's Cheaper Home Batteries Program currently provides a discount of up to 30% on the cost of installing a home battery system. The program reduces significantly every six months. so the discount available today is greater than what will be available later in the year. The program will continue until December 2030. Eligibility depends on your system size and setup. Your Energy Assessment will include your available current rebates.

Will a battery keep my power on during a blackout?

Yes it can. Most battery systems support this, but it does require additional setup at the time of installation to make it work automatically. The moment the grid goes down, your home switches to battery power without you lifting a finger. We can let you know if this is the right addition for your home.

How long does a battery last on a full charge?

It depends on your household usage - how many people, how many appliances, and when you're using them. We can give you a much better estimate once we know more about your home.

Do I need to upgrade my solar panels to add a battery?

Not always. Our energy assessment will let you know if your current panels are compatible. We'll look at what you have and what you may need before making any recommendations.

How do I know if my switchboard is ready for a battery?

At times, some switchboards may require modifications to ensure they comply with safety standards to have a battery installed. We assess this as part of the Site Inspection process so there are no surprises on installation day.

How do I know which battery size is right for my home?

That's exactly what our Energy Assessment finds out. It takes into account the number of people in your home, your appliances, and your energy habits to recommend the right fit.

What brands of battery do you install?

Only quality, proven battery brands with a strong track record in Australian conditions. During your free Energy Assessment, you'll get a recommendation based on your actual energy usage, home setup and budget. We don't push a single brand, just honest advice on what makes practical sense for your situation.

Is a solar battery safe to have in my home?

Yes. Your family's safety is something we take seriously on every job. Modern lithium battery systems are designed to strict Australian safety standards and installed with appropriate safety controls. We only use quality equipment and ensure every installation meets current electrical codes and standards.

How long does the installation take?

A battery-only installation can typically be completed in a day or two once all parts are at your home. If solar panels are also being added, allow around a week, though this can vary depending on your home and system size. We'll give you a clearer timeframe once we've assessed your setup.

What happens after the battery is installed?

Support after installation is a standard part of what we do at Vexus. Once your system is up and running, we help you understand how to monitor it, how to read your app, and what to adjust to get the best performance. Getting the most from a battery often comes down to how and when you use power, and that's something we help with. This is what looking after our customers actually means to us.

Do I need to be at home for the installation?

Not typically. But we can work in with your availability if you would like to be home. We'll discuss the timeframe clearly before we book the job.

How do I get started?

The first step is a free Energy Assessment. We review your current setup, look at how your home uses power, and give you honest advice on whether a battery, upgrade or other improvement is the right fit. There's no obligation and no sales pressure.
